I have been a die-hard fan of Kamal Haasan and his movies for as long as 10-12 years now. Everyone would agree that there is no actor in India (atleast) who puts in this kind of effort and dedication in his movies. Although Vijay and Ajith fans would argue that their heroes also put in an equal amount of effort into their movies, deep inside their hears they would still know that Vijay, Ajith or anyone else, for that matter, can’t even come close to Kamal’s perfection.
I saw these stills from Dasavathaaram on Behindwoods and was astonished at one fact in one particular still. The still is given here with the fact highlighted.
There is a custom among staunch Iyengars that one is supposed to have 12 Thirumans or naamams on one’s body. This fact is conveniently neglected while depicting Iyengars in films. Given Kamal’s perfection, one can see from the image that he has perfected even this aspect of Vaishnavism! I remember that he did it in Hey Ram too. I’ve highlighted six of the visible ones. The others are not visible here.
Simply astounding amount of perfection!
Can’t wait to watch the rest of the movie!
Yours Skeptically,
uleadin
P.S. This does not mean I’m a casteist or anything. I just thought of this point to prove his magnitude of perfection.

Racist!
@arun: I put the disclaimer for not being a Casteist. Forgot about Racist, Chauvenist and Rapist!
Hi, nice post there!Yes, as a Kamal Hassan aficionado, i should quite agree with you. I have watched Anbe Sivam and have never watched a movie like that all my life. Even i look forward to watching the movie!Can’t wait for the release!:)
Well, BTW, i really like the way you write!I happened to stop by your other blog too!Both are awesome!Well, how would you like to contribute to a group blogging venture that’s soon gonna be kick started by me?We could perhaps talk about this in detail.
Awaiting your response.

@rampantheart:
Let’s talk about this off the blog comment section. Thanks for the compliments anyway! You know where to email me.
Oh, great!But,i am afraid i do not know what your email id is!
@rampantheart:
oops! sorry! My mistake. I’ll email to your yahoo ID now.
Actually, I noticed another thing in the trailer of the movie.
In the first scene, where Kamal’s shoulder is shown in close up, one can see shamashanam done. A shamashanam is the shape of a conch and discus which is embossed on both the shoulders by means of a hot iron rod! This is done among very very staunch Iyengars. By very very staunch, I mean – this has not been done in my family for the past two generations!
@Narain:
Yes! I noticed it too. But I didn’t know it’s proper name and didn’t want to mention a wrong name here. Kamal’s dad, Srinivasan, was a very very staunch Iyengar da. My granny knows his family. Even in my family it hasn’t been done in my dad’s generation and mine
Hey man!

Perhaps you missed the Thirunamam on his head
@LVS: dai!
nice one da…. looking forward to this movie….
@csrinath:
Me too! In fact, I’ve told my dad for FDFS tickets already!
dei… the 12 Thirunamas include the one on his head as well….
besides u ve missed the three on his neck….
n one more thing u must have mentioned here da….. only those who get samasanam done r supposed to wear the 12 thirunamas……
Kamal is a perfectionist beyond question. It is really heartening to point a vaishnavistic ritual with great authenticity by an Athiest(referin kamal)!! Work Ethics at its highest level!!
@Ananth:
Yeah! That’s one fact I didn’t mention in the post!
