I was just looking at this tree and trying out some abstract thinking, to come up with different and relevant interpretations of a tree.
The tree is a symbol of age. It is a symbol of heritage. The older the tree, the more fruits it has seen. It’s very interesting that this fits well into the life of a woman.
The tree starts it’s life from the same minute stages as that of a human being, in this case a woman. As the tree grows, it branches out and tries to touch the sky, very similar to a woman who grows up with a lot of dreams and aspirations.
As time passes by, the tree grows it’s first leaves and crosses the line which divides immaturity and puberty. This is just the same feeling that a woman is bestowed upon when she attains puberty.
Then, the tree grows for some time with leaves alone. After that, it’s time to breed. This is the time in a woman’s life that she weds. It is not the exact equivalent, but it’s the best equivalent in life.
Then comes the stage where the woman goes through the most important time of her life, pregnancy. The tree goes through the same trauma as well. It starts off with the flower.
The flower slowly matures to become the fruit, before ripening. This is the period of gestation in a woman’s life.
Then comes the ultimate spectacle. The birth of the fruit, much like the birth of a child (in a woman’s case). The period of gestation that was filled with tension and trauma comes to an end in the good sense.
The tree stands long enough to see it’s children grow from seed to sapling to tree. Much like a woman who lives long enough to see her children and grandchildren grow.
Finally, when the tree falls to the ground due to the perils of ‘modern civilization’, so does the woman due to the
perils of ‘old age’.
